Please check whether the model is located on the local drive of that machine or on a network drive. Normally, it shouldn't matter. But since you are encountering a crash, if the model is on a network drive, try copying it your local drive and then try opening that copy in STAAD.Pro.
But if the crash occurs even after the model is on the local drive, try the following steps (best done by your systems administrator).
1. Close STAAD.Pro
2. Go to your Start menu ->click Run-> type REGEDIT, click Ok. The Registry Editor window will appear.
3. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER ->Software->Research Engineers->StaadPro->select 2007 and delete it.
4. Close the registry editor window, re-open STAAD.Pro and check if the model is opened successfully.
