I am modeling an irregular shaped underground wall will lateral soil/hydrostatic pressure. When I model it as a whole surface, it is easier to mesh and I get moment connections between all pieces BUT I am not sure how to add the loads correctly. I tried to load it before the mesh, but it does not take the loading as it suppose to be especially for some irregular shapes (no hydrostatic load type under surface) and it does not take the middle supports even I pinned them right at the connections. So I tried to model it as plates, this time the loadings are fine and with hydrostatic loading it's easier but I am not a big fan of define hundreds of plate manually. Wonder if anyone else have similar problems? Are there any tricks I am not aware of? Thanks for helping.
