Re: Problem with Deflection check in Staad

In the post processing mode's Beam - Unity Check page, the program is capable of reporting the results of only the final design operation on any given member. By final, we mean the last one in case more than one design operation is done for that member.

Your input shows 2 independent design operations. The first one is being done to load envelope 2, and the second one is to load envelope 1.

Can you not design to both envelopes simultaneously using the command

LOAD LIST ENV 1 2

and combine both the sets of parameters into a single set followed by a single CHECK CODE command? The program will then check each of those members for serviceability (only the serviceability load cases will be used for this check) and strength (only the strength load cases will be used for this check) and report the worse among the two checks.

If the above is not feasible and you need to have 2 sets of parameters and commands, the output file is the only place from where you can see the results of each of those design commands.

By the way, the BEAM 1 parameter is not necessary. It happens to be the default.
