We are also trying to get a feel for ISM between RAM SS and Revit, and it has been very frustrating. I'm the only one here still trying to figure it out. The other 2 engineers at our office just build a model in RAM and then duplicate it in Revit which is very time-consuming.
One hurdle we've had is that the synchronizer acts like a hundred different things have changed that we haven't touched, and it takes quite a while to look through the long list of stuff it thinks has changed. So then even though it's double work making duplicate models in the 2 programs, it's still faster than trying to use the ISM repository. Why does ISM keep wanting to delete and recreate deck on every import or export? It does the same for properties like concrete. It tries adding in beams over my joists. I can't get the columns to work out. Does ISM support multistory columns, or is that just the old Revit Link? And ISM doesn't seem to recognize my levels I added in Revit. The help file rarely answers the questions we've had. Is there a better resource to use? This forum is the most I've found so far.
