I saw your model. It appears that you have modeled the purlins properly as they are perpendicularly placed on the rafter.
The only thing you need is to assign the moment release at the end nodes if your concern is to have zero moment at the end. Regarding the design, you may use the general purlin design methodology. The required parameters or any other boundary conditions can be defined by the different set of design parameters.
