Hello all, I work for a Hydropower comany and I come across to lots of soil interaction structures to analyze. In doing so I am not sure what kind of support condition the structure must be provided. For example while analyzing a canal usually I provide pin support to corner of the canal base and create a number of loading in which i provide bearing pressure in upwards direction for each combination taken. In doing so i have to get all the bearing pressure in each combination and apply accordingly. But as there will be lots of combination, calculating brearing pressure for all of this combination and applying thm to the structure is just too much work.
therefore i m planning to provide the structure with spring support(fixed but). In doing so i m not sure wht to realease and wht value is to be inserted in Define spring. please get back to me .
