I am using the effective length method (AISC 360-10 /ASD) to design steel Hanger with tapered members in STAAD PRO .The TABLE C-A-7.1 in the appendix 7 suppose that the section is contsant .So the questions are :
1-How to define the effective length factor for the in plane buckling Kz for a tapered members ? Can we still use the The TABLE C-A-7.1
2-The out of plane factor is still can be taken as ky=1 .00 using the length between the girts ?
3-The value calculated by Staad pro for the factor Cb lateral-torsional buckling modification factor if we assign the Cb =0,give good results ?
4-For a steel hanger (single story ) ,what are the recommended values for KY ,KZ ,LY ,LZ for in plane and out of plane buckling of the columns ?
5-I am using asce 7 2010 envelop method to calculate my wind load manually , but how can i apply it to my structure as to be transferred to the structure by the cladding surface in other softwares like robot structural analysis it's too easy ! how to do it in STAAD PRO?
