In RAMFRAME, why are the applied diaphragm forces due to a response spectrum analysis (RSA) load case not shown on the report “Loads and Applied Forces”? This is a very basic response to calculate [see equation (13.2.4) of Dynamics of Structures by Anil K. Chopra, 1995] and not providing it robs the Structural Engineer of a method of implementing quality control on his design. Without that information the engineer feels that the output of the program is more like a black box. Page 249 of the manual suggests that information should be in the report. Is the lack of reporting of RSA applied diaphragm forces an unintended oversight? If it’s, is it going to be corrected soon? This is very basic stuff! It’s comparable to not reporting what the dead and live load reactions are at boundary conditions.
