Re: Deflection serviceability check and resulting load case
We agree that the critical load case should be shown as 3 in the Beam-Unity Check Page. It has been reported to the development group through TR SPRO4860It is shown correctly in the output file.

Thanks Sye, I used the User table General Sections and used the define polygon and computed section properties. But I am getting a warning saying that Design not performed for User General Sections.

Thanks a lot :)I can take care of the design of the Aluminum sections, but I'm really can't be sure 100% of the design of steel members, this structure is supposed to carry 880 kgs of photovoltaic...

Most likely TB and TD values are specified as zero. These has to be non zero for the section to be classified and designed. The terms are explained below TD Thickness associated with section element...
View ArticleRe: Flat Steel Bar
Yes you can but the only issue with that is, these are treated by STAAD as prismatic sections and hence not designed. If you do not need a design, you sure can use YD and ZD.

Dear All,I want to get this information that whether the STAAD Pro V8i checks for the shear of plate elements. if i am designing the plate elements through the command, does STAAD Pro designs it while...

Do you want to know the procedure to manually design a one way slab or the procedure you need to follow to design a one way slab in STAAD or RAM?
View ArticleRe: One way slab
I am asking the procedure to design a one way slab. I am trying to design a reinforced concrete stair. I assumed it as a one way slab. In my model there is a beam in the edge lower part and another...
View ArticleRe: One way slab
Staad is not a good option for designing slab. Better do it with manual design or with Ram. Further it appears that you have not applied the floor load correctly which can be known only after going...

Hi,At least one quadrilateral panel bounded on at least 3 sides by "complete" members has to be present within the bounds of the user-defined range of coordinates (XRANGE, YRANGE and ZRANGE) in order...

Hi,You can use RAM Concept to design the floor slabs. RAM Concept is a software application for the structural analysis and design of conventionally reinforced and post-tensioned concrete floors, mats,...

Dear Suro,Are you sure that a quadrilateral area bounded on three sides only by members will be recognised by Staad as floor. I suppose the the qudrilateral area bounded on three sides by members will...

Hi sureshprsharma,You are correct about the fact that program is not able to apply floor load correctly if only three sides are bounded by members. In my statement, I mentioned that at least 3 sides of...
