Sir,

I am facing 3 warnings in Staad pro during analysis. One is 'STRICTURE IS DISJOITED IGNORE IF......' and the other warning is '**WARNING-FX FY FZ wind forces: 1.8114E+00 0.0000E+00 0.0000E+00 ... Please help me solve this problem..

Is there a way to model radial and/or tangential supports in Ram Elements?  Or can I model supports in the local coordinates of nodes/elements?

I am attempting to model a curved surface with shell elements that has radial supports at the ends.

sharing violation occured

Hi Team,

I have a staad model and would like to assign truss features ( compression / tension ) to all web members. when ever I try to click the truss option the whole staad disappears. When I try to open the file again it says sharing violation.

when I go to Task Manager staad is still running. I closed/ended the process and accessed my file again. Still its giving me the sharing violation.

The only option which allowed me to open the file is to restart my computer. Does any one have any answer to this issue.

I have some questions for RAM Connection within STAADPro V8i.

Currently, I'm using STAAD.Pro V8i (SELECTseries 6) 20.07.11.33

1. In RAM Connection Stand alone software, we can combine moment and shear connections to a particular joint and we can readily see the shear and moment connections. How can I do this in RAM-built-in-STAAD?

For example: for Beam Splice joint, I want to apply Single Plate Beam and Flange Plate Beam Splice at the same time. Or can I also assign the 2 type of connections separately at the same joint?

2. What kind of connection can I use for vertical braces with 45degrees inclination connected to beam on one end and column? (CBB)

3. Is there any way to import the connection details to Tekla and/or ProStructures using BIM or other third-party software?

4. Is there any way to compile all .dxfs and results into one file? or as an spreadsheet? What is your real life procedure in compilation of results?

Hi,

Design of 3D staad model ( Select Series VI, Build : 20.07.11.50 or 70) with respect to design Code: IS800-2007:

Design Type of Staad Model: 3D staad modeled with Jack beam, One frame having columns and another frame do not have columns, rafter completely resting on jack beams

Observation: There is huge design stress ratio difference frame with all columns position at middle level and both external frames with columns. Normally middle frame has to stress more than external frames because loading on middle ( with columns) might be more, hence stress ratio's used to come accordingly.

Error: In the enclosed 3d file, external frames with columns are stressed more than middle frame. Please go through and find out the solution & communicate to us at earliest

My doubt is: Which kind of verifications is RAM doing under this load combination? What is it doing when only “Initial Service design” in activated in the “Initial Service Combination”?

Is the Load History Deflections calculation now the only way to look at long term deflections of a one-way or two-way elevated slab? The manual states that long term deflections for ACI318 can be viewed by choosing Layers>Rule Set Designs>Service Design>L.T. Deflection Plan, but the L.T. Deflection Plan is not showing up as an option. See excerpt below from the manual.

I need to specify some generic connections in a frame work, rather than quantify the loads at each connection we would like to provide a single bolted beam splice that is of equal (or slightly greater) strength than the beam as a whole.  Is there a simple way to generate such loads- seems like a typical requirement for a 'splice'??

I've modelled a prefabricated cabin with STAAD.PRO and everything was almost good since something has happened. I ave two different kind of plate. One (floor plate) is 5mm thick and the other one is 2mm thk (corrugated steel plate for roof and walls).

I selected the floor plates and I have assigned the plate 5mm thick (everything ok).

I selected the wall and roof plates and I have assigned the plate 2mm thick. The results is that the roof and the transversal wall have accepted the modification, the longitudinal wall instead no. Have been created 3 new plate type 2mm thick that I'm unable to delete. Somebody can help me?

Analysis of Foundations Subjected to Dynamic Loads

Hello,

I would just like to make a query regarding the most effective way of modelling the dynamic loads exerted by a machinery to a block foundation. As per vendor data, the dynamic loads are at a certain location which are not in the top face of the foundation. In order to correctly get the dynamic response, am i going to use a dummy member such that one end of that member will constitute the location of the dynamic loading and one end will be the location (i.e. anchor bolts and concrete contact point) where the machine transfer the dynamic load to the top face of the foundation.

RAM Concept - "Other Dead Loading" defined as "Loading Type" "Other"

In RAM Concept the program (by default) includes "Other Dead Loading" (ie super-imposed dead loads) in the dead load balance calculation. Typically, super-imposed dead loads are not included when calculating dead load balances. To accommodate this we have changed "Other Dead Loading" to be defined as loading type "Other". This appears to only affect the dead load balance calculation, and does not affect the design since the loading name and load combinations are unchanged.

Are there other implications to changing the loading type of "Other Dead Loading" from "Dead" to "Other"? What other rules are associated with the "Dead" loading type definition?

Question about get results with a macro staad pro

Hello,


I have a question about getting some results with openstaad.

1)

I want to get something as:

Load.GetNodalLoads NodeNo, FXArray, FYArray, FZArray, MXArray, MYArray, MZArray

But in spite of get the nodal load by a load case, get the load to the entire combinations.

For example:

I have some model with a node with 3 load cases, and 3 combinations, if I use getnodalloads only get the 3 load cases but i don't get the 3 combinations, Is possible to achieve the combinations?

2)

Are there any function to get this data?

This seems like a handy feature that wouldn't be too difficult to implement but I haven't been able to find anything.  I'm interested in modifying or adding new load combos (in this case I'd like to run a load history analysis for a two way slab with a different percentage of the live load being added for the sustained loading step) but every time I reopen a slab I've exited all the changes I've made to the combos have been reverted.  It's not a huge issue but the time it takes to reinput each combo by hand each time (rather than using a spreadsheet if they all need to be deleted for some reason in the first place) multiplied by the 12 floors I have to do it really adds up.
