Hi Seth / Josh,
I am currently setting up a default file for our company and am investigating the use of RAM Concept and lateral loading on a slab.
Loading and combinations will be static loading coming from AS1170. From what I gather, because most of our usual flat plates aren't considered a viable load path (flexure) for laterals loads, which is usually all done using the core - we won't require the Lateral SE analysis. Therefore all lateral load combos will be single linear elastic.
My prelim load combos are below. Are you able to make comment on them? I've chosen to include the balance load rather than the hyperstatic.
As a follow up question: Is there an easy way to locate a floor plate centroid using RAM Concept? Or is my best bet to import the CAD file of the slab outline and use AutoCAD's mass properties tool to find the centroid location. Then set up my origin in RAM Concept so I can locate it using user defined lines. Then of course for EQ loads I can put a point load at the centroid of the slab.
